About the Will County Estate Planning Council

The Will County Estate Planning Council is a professional association dedicated to promoting excellence, collaboration, and ethical service among estate planning professionals. Originally established in 1970 as the Estate Planning Council of Greater Joliet, our organization was founded by attorneys, accountants, trust officers, and insurance professionals who saw the need for a more coordinated and informed approach to estate planning. In response to the growing complexity of estate and tax laws, and the evolving needs of clients, the Council has expanded to include Certified Financial Planners and other qualified professionals. In 2025, reflecting our expanded reach and commitment to serving the broader community, we adopted the name Will County Estate Planning Council.

Our Mission

We exist to foster intelligent cooperation and meaningful relationships among professionals engaged in estate planning. By encouraging education, ethical standards, and interdisciplinary collaboration, we help our members better serve their clients and uphold the highest standards in estate, trust, tax, and wealth planning.

Our Objectives

• Encourage communication and cooperation between attorneys, CPAs, financial advisors, trust officers, and other estate planning specialists.

• Support ongoing education to keep members informed of legal, tax, and practical developments.

• Promote the highest level of professionalism and client service in all areas of estate planning.
